Discretionary Portfolio Management · Newmarket, Ontario
Financial leadership for high‑agency Canadians.
Discretionary portfolios for families and business owners across Newmarket, York Region, and the GTA — managed with structure and discipline by the Portfolio Manager you actually talk to.
Philosophy
We think in decades.
We act with discipline.
Most financial content is designed to soothe you. Ours is designed to serve you. Here is what we believe.
Truth over comfort.
Markets fall. Plans get tested. You will hear that from us before it happens, not after. Clear expectations are the foundation of a relationship that lasts decades.
Structure beats improvisation.
Every portfolio we manage follows a written mandate built around your objectives, time horizon, and tolerance for risk. Decisions follow process — not headlines, and not moods.
Risk is managed, never eliminated.
All investing involves risk, including the possible loss of capital. We don’t pretend otherwise. We build portfolios intended to carry risk deliberately — in the amounts, and in the places, you’ve agreed to carry it.
The relationship
What discretionary management means.
A Portfolio Manager makes day-to-day investment decisions on your behalf, under a written agreement. It is a different kind of relationship — here is what it rests on.
Your mandate governs
Every decision is made within a written mandate you approve — your objectives, time horizon, and tolerance for risk. No trade-by-trade phone calls. No pressure to time markets yourself.
Independent custody
Your assets are held in your name at an independent third-party custodian — we direct the investments; the custodian holds the assets.
A duty of conduct
Discretionary managers owe clients a demanding standard of conduct — dealing with you fairly, honestly, and in good faith. You’ll know what you own, why you own it, and what it costs.
What we do
Three services. One accountable relationship.
Your investments, your retirement, and the ongoing relationship — managed by the same person, under the same discipline.
Discretionary portfolio management
A portfolio built and managed around your written mandate — objectives, income needs, time horizon, and tolerance for risk. Actively managed. Deliberately structured.
Retirement income planning
A practical plan for turning what you’ve built into income — savings, spending, major decisions, and the trade-offs between them — revisited as your life changes.
Ongoing stewardship
Regular reviews, plain-language reporting, and direct access to the person managing your money. The relationship is the service.
How it works
Four steps. No mystery.
A direct conversation
A no-obligation intro call. We learn your situation, goals, and constraints. You learn exactly how we work and what it costs. If we’re not the right fit, we’ll say so.
A written mandate
Together we document your objectives, time horizon, and risk tolerance in an investment policy that governs every decision made in your accounts.
A guided transition
If we proceed, your accounts move over in an orderly sequence — with each step, and each cost, explained before it happens.
Disciplined stewardship
Your portfolio is actively managed within your mandate — monitored, rebalanced, reported on — and the plan evolves as your life does.
Who we serve
Built for people who take ownership.
High-agency means you make decisions and live with them. Our clients tend to share that trait — across Newmarket, York Region, and the GTA.
Professionals & executives
Careers demand your full attention. Your portfolio shouldn’t compete for it — but it should never be an afterthought either.
Business owners
You’ve built something. The discipline that built it deserves a counterpart in how your personal wealth is managed.
Families thinking generationally
Wealth that lasts decades requires decisions made on decade timelines — with a structure the whole family can understand.
Meet your Portfolio Manager

Trevor spent his career on the institutional side of investing — portfolio management, client service, and compliance leadership, including work with hedge funds and pension funds. He founded TK Dale Wealth to bring that discipline to families and business owners who want one accountable relationship.
When you work with the firm, you work with him: the same person who builds your mandate manages your portfolio and answers your questions. No layers, no hand-offs, no theatre.
“We don’t promise returns. We commit to a process — and to telling you, plainly, how it’s going.”

Questions, answered directly
What people ask us first.
What does a Portfolio Manager actually do?
A Portfolio Manager manages investments on your behalf on a discretionary basis — making day-to-day decisions within a written mandate you approve, with a duty to deal with you fairly, honestly, and in good faith. It differs from an advisory relationship where you approve each trade. TK Dale Wealth Management Inc. is registered in this category in Ontario.
Is my money held by TK Dale Wealth?
No. Client assets are held in your name at an independent third-party custodian. We direct the investments; the custodian holds the assets.
What does it cost?
We charge a transparent, asset-based management fee — set out in writing before you commit to anything. Ask us on the intro call; you’ll get a direct answer. Our goal is simple: excellent service, for a reasonable price.
Can you guarantee my portfolio won’t lose money?
No — and no one legitimately can. All investing involves risk, including possible loss of capital. What we can offer is a disciplined process for taking risk deliberately, in line with a mandate you’ve agreed to.
Is there a minimum portfolio size?
Our goal is to help as many Canadians as possible. If you feel you’re at a point where more advice would make a difference, reach out — have the conversation, and we’ll tell you honestly whether we’re the right fit.
Will I work directly with Trevor?
Yes. You work with the Portfolio Manager responsible for your strategy — the same person who builds your mandate manages your portfolio and answers your questions.
Do you work with clients outside Newmarket?
Yes. We’re based at 71 Main St. S. in Newmarket and serve clients across York Region, the GTA, and Ontario, meeting in person or virtually.
Next step
One conversation. Zero obligation.
Thirty minutes. You talk, we listen, and you leave knowing exactly what working together would look like — including what it costs. If we’re not the right fit, we’ll tell you.
